Jets deal former Alabama DT Quinnen Williams in blockbuster trade

Former Alabama DT Quinnen Williams is on the move.
In a blockbuster trade, the New York Jets are sending Williams to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for two draft picks and Mazi Smith.

Williams has been in the NFL since 2019. The Jets selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in 2019.
In 2025, Williams has been an 8-game starter for the Jets. He has 32 total tackles on the season, including 17 solo stops, 7 TFLs and 1 sack with 3 forced fumbles.

Williams is on a run of 3 consecutive Pro Bowl selections. In 2022, he was selected first-team All-Pro and named the Defensive Player of the Year after posting a career-high 12 sacks and 28 QB hits.
In his pro career, Williams has played in 98 games, making 94 starts. He has recorded 322 total tackles, 199 solo stops, 101 QB hits and 40 sacks.
Williams spent the 2016-18 seasons at Alabama playing for Nick Saban. After redshirting, Williams logged 6.5 TFLs in the 2017 campaign. He had a breakout season in 2018, recording 19.5 TFLs with 8 sacks. Williams was named first-team All-American and All-SEC for 2018, winning the Outland Trophy for best interior lineman.
