LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers punched their ticket to the second round of the NBA Playoffs on Friday night, thumping the Houston Rockets 98-78 to win the Western Conference first-round series 4-2.

James was in vintage form, scoring a game-high 28 points along with seven rebounds and eight assists. But the 41-year-old King James needed an assist of his own – as Houston Texans linebacker Will Anderson Jr. hoisted James off the court along the baseline after the future Hall of Famer went down hard.

James was grinning as Anderson reached down to haul him up before clapping the Texans star on the back and returning to play against the Rockets.

“It was good to see him. That’s my fourth child,” James joked after the game. “Him and Bronny are twins and don’t nobody know it. Unbelievable football player who is deserving of everything that he’s got. It was definitely good to see him.”

Anderson won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award with the Texans in 2023 after a standout career at Alabama. He has notched 30 sacks in three seasons, including a career-best 12 last year to help Houston to a 12-5 record and a berth in the NFL Playoffs. The Texans won their Wild Card Round game against the Steelers before falling to the Patriots in the Divisional Round.
