Myles Garrett hasn’t had many opportunities to face Aaron Rodgers throughout his career. After Rodgers signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, though, the Browns’ defensive end will get to face off against the veteran quarterback twice in 2025.
Garrett, who has 102.5 sacks to his credit, hopes that he’ll be able to finally get the best of Rodgers.
“It’s a good opportunity to put him in the graveyard,” Garrett told reporters on Tuesday.
According to the AP’s Joe Reedy, Garrett has sacked 31 different quarterbacks during his NFL career. And Oct. 12 in Pittsburgh and Dec. 28 in Cleveland will be just the 2nd and 3rd times Garrett has faced Rodgers.
In 2017, Garrett’s rookie season, the Browns played the Packers in Week 14, but Rodgers didn’t play in that one. Garrett’s first time lined up against Rodgers was on Christmas Day 2021, but he didn’t record a sack in a 24-22 loss.
The Browns would meet the New York Jets in 2023, but Rodgers, after signing with Gang Green before the season, suffered a Week 1 injury and was shelved for the year.
We’ll see if Garrett is indeed able to add Rodgers to not just his sack list, but his infamous quarterback graveyard he puts out each Halloween. The Browns, meanwhile, are looking to rebound from a 3-14 record in 2024.
