Elijah Moore, a former Ole Miss star WR, voiced his displeasure with the New York Jets this past season as his role dwindle.

There were plenty of trade rumors during the 2022 season, but it took until the offseason for a move to get done, it appears.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moore and the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft will go to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the Browns’ second-round pick in the upcoming draft:

Moore appeared in 16 games for the Jets in 2022, his second year in the NFL, making 9 starts. The 2021 second-round pick recorded 37 catches for 446 yards and 1 touchdown.

What this means

Moore won’t be around if/when the Jets trade for new QB Aaron Rodgers. Instead, he’ll get a fresh start in Cleveland, where he’ll catch passes from Deshaun Watson.

This is a case where both parties might be better off from a trade. Moore needs a fresh start, and the Jets can use the draft pick from the Browns to add another piece to put around Rodgers.

We’ll see if Moore can show off his second-round potential after a change of scenery. The 2023 season will be a big one for Moore (and the Browns, for that matter).
