Former Ole Miss QB Matt Corral has a new professional football opportunity.

The Birmingham Stallions of the new UFL announced that the club has signed Corral. The USFL and XFL merged to create a combined spring league, with the 2024 season beginning on March 30.

Corral had a standout career at Ole Miss from 2018-to-2021, establishing himself as a multi-year starter. Corral finished with over 8,000 yards and a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 57-23 as a passer, adding 1,338 yards and 18 scores on the ground.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Corral was selected No. 94 overall by the Carolina Panthers. He suffered a season-ending injury in preseason action of his rookie year. Carolina waived Corral in August 2023.

The New England Patriots claimed Corral after he was let go by the Panthers. His stay with New England did not last long. On Sept. 9, Corral was placed on an exempt list after leaving the team without notice and failing to report. Later that month, he was released later that month.

Corral has yet to see regular-season NFL action. Plenty of SEC fans will be interested to see if a stop in the UFL can help get him another NFL opportunity after the rough start to his career.
