Despite the fact the Ole Miss football program is currently still on probation and faces a reduction on available scholarships and a bowl ban for the 2018 season, the Rebels currently have the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for 2019.

That’s a remarkable achivement for Matt Luke and his program, which just finished up its first spring camp under the Ole Miss alum. The program picked up another four commitments over the weekend, which pushed its total to 14 and helped elevate its recruiting ranking to become the best in the nation this spring. No other SEC program has even reached 10 commitments at this time.

So how is Ole Miss managing to do this? According to Luke, it’s all about moving beyond the cloud of the NCAA. With the threat of the yearslong NCAA investigation now over, the program is finding it easier to move on and provide specific answers to prospects interested in the school.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM program SEC This Morning, shared by the show’s producer Frank Fowler, Luke shared his thoughts on Ole Miss’ recruiting momentum.
