Ole Miss added a major piece to its 2024 offensive line on Monday evening.

The Rebels landed a commitment from former North Carolina offensive tackle Diego Pounds. He will now join Ole Miss’ well-regarded transfer portal class as the Rebels prepare for a big season in 2024.

Here’s Pounds’ announcement:

Pounds will be a contender to start at tackle for Ole Miss in 2024. He made 8 starts for North Carolina this past season and was a key part of the Tar Heels’ offensive line at left tackle.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, the former Tar Heel has elite size for the tackle position and figures to bring physicality to the Rebels’ offensive line next season.

Pounds is another key addition to a transfer portal class that was already ranked No. 1 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the 13th member of the Rebels’ transfer class so far and the 2nd offensive lineman to join the class.

Pounds will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
