Since his NFL career came to an early end amid domestic-violence issues, former Ole Miss DL Greg Hardy has taken to the octagon.

Now, the MMA fighter’s career is taking a step forward, as he has been booked in a UFC fight next month against another former NFL player.

According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Hardy will fight Austen Lane — a former Jacksonville Jaguar — on June 12:

Hardy will face Austen Lane in a UFC fight on June 12. Lane, a fifth-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2010, was a defensive end like Hardy, although Lane didn’t see the same kind of success in the NFL. Lane’s career spanned just 30 regular-season games.

Hardy isn’t exactly the most popular person after the brutal domestic violence allegations, so it’s safe to say Lane will be the crowd favorite in this fight.

However, Hardy has shown some serious skill in the octagon, so it should at least be an entertaining battle between the former defensive linemen.
