Ole Miss chancellor Dr. Jeffrey Vitter’s tenure in Oxford won’t be a long one, according to a report on Saturday.

Vitter took over as the chancellor at Ole Miss in 2016, and has been an outspoken critic of the way the NCAA has punished the Rebels for recruiting violations.

According to Ole Miss reporter Neal McCready, Vitter’s contract won’t be renewed when it expires in June of 2020:

That gives Vitter a little over two years left in Oxford, but it seems strange that the university would make a decision at this early stage.

However, it appears there will be a change at Ole Miss, and we’ll have to see how involved the new chancellor is with the athletic department.
