Turns out the fastest man at the 2019 NFL Combine has decided to hang up his cleats before ever hitting an NFL field.

In an interesting move, former Ole Miss defensive back Zedrick Woods has filed paperwork to retire from the NFL according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN. Woods went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft but was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

If you missed it this offseason, Woods ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at the Combine. No other prospect registered a faster time in Indianapolis.

Woods started every game for Ole Miss last fall and appeared in 49 games during his playing career in Oxford. During those four seasons, Woods registered 231 tackles, 11 passes defended with six interceptions and one pick six.
