Baseball state? Ole Miss and Mississippi State draw huge crowds for regional weekend
The Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs both hosted regionals this weekend as part of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Each of the home teams managed to advance in three games, and drew huge crowds for each of those contests.
Both teams are now in the super regionals, with Mississippi State hosting its matchup and Ole Miss traveling to Arkansas for its super regional.
How much fan support did the Bulldogs and Rebels get? Over 58,000 fans came to the six games. As you can see below, Mississippi State had 29,351 total fans, with Ole Miss having 29,352 fans come through the gates:
This is crazy…attendance #s for @HailStateBB and @OleMissBSB from the weekend. 58,703 people watched 6 baseball games in Mississippi this weekend. Wow.
State – G1 8,826, G2 11,511, G3 9,014
Total 29,351Ole Miss – G1 9,810, G2 10,037, G3 9,505

Now, since Ole Miss claims one more fan than Mississippi State, it is possible that there’s a bit of gamesmanship in these numbers.
Still, no matter how you slice it, that’s some impressive turnout for regional weekend.
