Butch Jones and the Arkansas State Red Wolves weren’t expected to go into Norman and beat Oklahoma in their Week 1 matchup on Saturday.

But they also weren’t supposed to go into Norman on Saturday and find themselves trailing 21-0 in the first quarter of play.

This is Year 3 of the Butch Jones era at Arkansas State, and if improvements aren’t made soon, it seems it could be the last year for him with the Red Wolves.

As you can see below, we’re barely 15 minutes into the 2023 college football season and Jones is already taking plenty of heat on social media:

Arkansas State went 3-9 in 2022 after posting a 2-10 record in 2021. The Red Wolves went 1-7 in Sun Belt play both years.

Can Butch Jones turn this team around soon? Can the Red Wolves avoid a massive margin of defeat at Oklahoma? If not, he may be among the college football head coaches looking for new jobs before the end of the year.
