With another week of college football in the books, bowl projections everywhere have been updated.

In the case of CBS Sports bowl expert Jerry Palm, the post-Week 11 update to his bowl projections  provides his biggest shakeup of the season:

  • Alabama: Sugar Bowl vs. Baylor (New Year’s Six)
  • Auburn: Citrus Bowl vs. Minnesota
  • Florida: Cotton Bowl vs. Memphis (New Year’s Six)
  • Georgia: Orange Bowl vs. Wake Forest (New Year’s Six)
  • Kentucky: Music City Bowl vs. Virginia
  • LSU: Peach Bowl vs. Oklahoma (College Football Playoff semifinal)
  • Mississippi State: Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma State
  • Missouri: Gator Bowl vs. Michigan
  • Tennessee: Liberty Bowl vs. TCU
  • Texas A&M: Outback Bowl vs. Penn State

This is the first time all season we’ve seen Palm project Alabama to a non-CFP bowl game. The Crimson Tide has made the CFP field of four every year of its existence (2014-present), but that streak is now in danger after UA’s loss to LSU.

Note: Palm’s projections came out before the CFP selection committee rankings. The committee has Georgia at No. 4 and Alabama at No. 5 entering Week 12.

Palm had long been projecting only nine SEC teams to go bowling but has added Tennessee to his projections after UT defeated Kentucky on Saturday. Jeremy Pruitt’s Volunteers need only one more win over either Missouri or Vanderbilt to secure bowl eligibility.
