The first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2023 season were released on Tuesday night on ESPN.

Committee chair Boo Corrigan, athletic director at NC State, will be the face of the group again this season, the tenth of the 4-team CFP format.

Selection committee members meet in person on Mondays and Tuesdays ahead of weekly rankings reveals on ESPN. Rankings will be unveiled every Tuesday from Oct. 31 to Nov. 28. The final CFP poll of the 2023 season will be announced on Selection Sunday, Dec. 3.

The 2023-24 College Football Playoff will feature Jan. 1 semifinal games at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. The CFP National Championship Game is set to be played in Houston on Jan. 8.

Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Washington, Air Force, James Madison and Liberty enter Week 10 undefeated. Ahead of Tuesday’s rankings reveal, there was plenty of debate surrounding the sorting of the undefeated and 1-loss Power 5 teams.

The SEC has been represented in the CFP all 9 years. The division races are in the Week 10 spotlight as Georgia faces Mizzou and Alabama hosts rival LSU. Ole Miss is also in the mix as a 1-loss team with a win over LSU and a showdown with UGA scheduled in November.
