Deion Sanders has done a great job at Jackson State, turning the Tigers into an FBS powerhouse.

Now, he’s being mentioned every time a Power 5 job opens up, especially if that job is located in the South.

On Tuesday, CFB insider Bruce Feldman of FOX and The Athletic joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” and said he’s hearing some NFL people wonder if Coach Prime would indeed take a big job. Feldman then points out he thinks Sanders would be an interesting fit at Auburn:

“The NFL people I know who know him really well think if you’ve got a big job, why not Deion?” Feldman said. “He’s done a really good job where he’s at and he’s obviously recruited at a high level. I think one of the things that has happened is that because Florida State has gotten off to a really nice start under Mike Norvell, that’s a job a lot of people have said, ‘Ooh, I can see Deion going back home.’ I don’t know if Deion would look at an Arizona State. … Arizona State is going to have the NCAA investigation hanging over it. I don’t know how stable the AD situation or the leadership there is. …

“I’d be curious, we see the AFLAC commercials, would Deion say, ‘my alma mater doesn’t seem to be coming open with Mike Norvell turning a corner, Auburn’s a big job.’ I’d be fascinated to see what Deion could do there. To me, that would be a really, really interesting addition for the SEC.”

Will Sanders be getting some Power 5 calls ahead of the 2023 season? His name is certainly a hot one in Power 5 circles, so we’ll see what the future holds for Coach Prime.
