“We talk a lot about (Leonard) Fournette and (Nick) Chubb, but neither one is a better college running back than Ezekiel Elliott.”

Say what?

Mike Greenberg of ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike” made the bold statement during a segment on Monday in reference to this year’s Heisman race being running back-heavy.

Elliott vs. Fournette vs. Chubb (in 2015)

  • Fournette 99 carries, 864 yards, 11 TD (4 games)
  • Chubb 91 carries, 745 yards, 7 TD (5 games)
  • Elliott 100 carries, 729 yards, 8 TD (5 games)

Now, what’s the argument?

All three ballcarriers have rushed for at least 100 yards in every game this season. Elliott’s coming off a career-best 274-yard explosion at Indiana, Fournette’s scored multiple touchdowns in every contest and Chubb’s on a personal school-record streak of 12 straight games in triple digits.
