It didn’t take long for Kirk Herbstreit to tell the college football world who he would rank as his top for teams after the conclusion of Week 9.

Herbstreit – who was on the call of Saturday’s primetime game between Clemson and Florida State – didn’t have any surprises in his College Football Playoff bracket at this point in the season. He had Alabama leading the pack, followed by Michigan, Clemson and Washington:

Alabama wasn’t tested this week and enjoyed a bye before a big match-up with LSU in Baton Rouge next Saturday. The other three teams picked up important road wins this week: Michigan took down Michigan State 32-23, Clemson beat Florida State 37-34 and Washington survived against Utah 31-24. All four teams now sit at 8-0 on the year.

Will this be how the College Football Committee views things, as well?

We’ll find out soon enough. The first rankings for the College Football Playoff rankings are set to come out Tuesday night.
