Week 1 of the 2022 college football season is here as it is a fresh start for 13 of the 14 teams in the SEC.

Last week, Vanderbilt shocked the world by dominating Hawaii 63-10 on the road behind the four-touchdown performance of quarterback Mike Wright.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Bill Connelly released his first weekly SP+ predictions based on a computer model as “opponent- and tempo-adjusted look at the most sustainable and predictive aspects of college football. It is intended to be predictive and forward-facing.”

The biggest game of the SEC is not projected to be close as No. 3 Georgia is predicted to beat No. 11 Oregon 36-17. Another highly-anticipated ranked versus ranked matchup involving an SEC team could come down to a field as No. 19 Arkansas is predicted to beat No. 23 Cincinnati 29-26. No. 7 Utah is predicted to have a close victory over Florida on the road 29-28.
