Asking athletes and coaches questions is more difficult than it looks. Naturally, they don’t want to say anything to give away a strategic secret or provide bulletin board material to the opposition.

Asking a question, and more importantly, phrasing a question in the correct way is vital to getting athletes to open up to say something worth reporting.

Then again, not every reporter will put a ton of thought into their line of questioning. That appeared to be the case when one reporter asked Oklahoma and former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts whether he would prefer to win this week instead of lose.

Yep, you read that right. Watch below:

Granted, this video doesn’t give any context for what the previous question or conversation was about, but whether or not a college football player would prefer “to win this week” shouldn’t be something a reporter needs to clarify.
