This isn’t good news if you’re a Michigan State fan.

As if moving the ball against Alabama’s defense wasn’t going to be hard enough, Spartans quarterback Connor Cook still doesn’t look 100 percent heading into the team’s playoff semifinal matchup this Thursday.

Michigan State held practice on Sunday in preparation for the Cotton Bowl matchup, and his right, throwing shoulder — which has been in question since he apparently injured it against Maryland on Nov. 14 — was in a harness during the session.

According to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough, Cook wasn’t throwing at max velocity.

The Spartans’ fifth-year senior QB has said that the three weeks off has helped aid his recovery, and he’s said that game adrenaline has prevented him from feeling pain.

However, one has to wonder if the shoulder will hold up against the best front seven in college football.

On Monday, Cook told the media he’ll be completely healthy before this week’s big game.
