The nation’s No. 1 2019 quarterback — 5-star Arizona native Spencer Rattler — has been committed to Oklahoma since June of last year.

Now, it appears the pro-style quarterback’s high school career has come to a premature end, though.

According to AZCentral.com, Rattler has been ruled ineligible after violating a district code of conduct policy:

Mike Rattler, Spencer’s father, told azcentral sports on Tuesday night that his son is ineligible for the rest of the season, including the playoffs, after violating a district code of conduct policy.

“We can’t say anything more on that,” said Mike Rattler in reference to what the violation entailed.

There weren’t many specifics available, but Rattler’s father said it was a “dumb thing” and out of character for his son:

“I told him eventually you’re going to have to address your team and make a statement about it,” Mike Rattler said. “It’s a dumb thing and it happened. He’s a good kid. He’s never been in trouble. He has a 3.8 GPA.”

According to the 247Sports composite, Rattler is the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Arizona. Rattler’s father said the situation has already been addressed with Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley.
