New sheriff in town: Dana Holgorsen appears to call out previous Houston coaching staff

Houston made a splash hire this offseason when the school managed to lure Dana Holgorsen away from West Virginia.
Now that he’s getting ready to start his first season as head coach of the Cougars, Holgorsen clearly isn’t messing around.
The Major Applewhite era ended poorly in Houston and Holgorsen is tasked with turning around a program that has proven it can compete at a very high level as one of the best programs in the American Athletic Conference. To do so, he’ll have to make sure his team prepares for the season the right way, which is something he alluded to in the clip below.

Houston coach Dana Holgorsen on first week of camp: ‘We practice hard, we coach hard, we practice hard. I don’t think that’s happened here in awhile.’ Calls it ‘unchartered territory’ for many players on roster. pic.twitter.com/Bw7z7Smpey
