There has been a lot of talk about the strength of teams currently in the ACC, especially after Clemson was left out of the top four in the initial College Football Playoff rankings despite being undefeated.

The ACC isn’t very deep, with the Tigers being the only team from the conference currently ranked. They’re 11-0, and there’s no other team with fewer than three losses.

Yet, an ACC coach took a jab at another conference when speaking with the media on Thursday — the Big Ten.

“The people at ESPN, they need to wake up,” Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi said, according to John McGonigal of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “You look at all the conferences, you can pick on one because Clemson’s been so dominant. But Ohio State’s been pretty dominant in the Big Ten. Who else is there right now?”

To answer Narduzzi’s question, the Big Ten also features Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa, all of which are currently ranked. Penn State is 9-1 with its only loss coming to Minnesota, and Minnesota is 9-1 with its only loss coming to Iowa.

Ohio State may be 10-0, but it will be tested in the final weeks of the regular season as it plays at home against Penn State on Saturday and at Michigan on Nov. 30. Those games are both more challenging than any Clemson has on its schedule this season.

So, if the Buckeyes finish the season undefeated, it will surely be more impressive than if the Tigers do so, given they had to face tougher obstacles to get there.
