5 WRs to target in later rounds of Best Ball Mania V drafts

Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders — ADP: 121.2

I think Gardner Minshew II is going to be a better quarterback than anyone the Raiders had under center in 2023. With Davante Adams and first-round pick Brock Bowers also in the mix in Las Vegas, defenses won’t be able to double-team everyone. Meyers should have plenty of room to operate this fall. He had 71 catches for 807 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2023. He could exceed those numbers in 2024. I’ll take that for a Round 11 pick.

Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders — ADP: 133.6

Dotson has talent. It’s consistency that has plagued him. But he also hasn’t had the best QB situation in Washington so far in his young career. That changes this year, with Jayden Daniels in town as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s the WR2 on this team and should see plenty of targets. If he can build some early chemistry with Daniels, it could be just the boost his career needs.

Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers — ADP: 143.9

As trade rumors continue to swirl around both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk in San Francisco, Pearsall could step in and contribute right away as a rookie. If 1 of the 49ers’ top 2 receivers does get traded before the season, Pearsall will likely slide into the WR2 role. If that does happen, his draft position will move significantly, so now is the time to get in on Pearsall if you think Aiyuk or Samuel will be traded.

Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers — ADP: 167.1

The Carolina offense can’t be much worse than it was last year. But I’m actually cautiously optimistic we’ll see some significant improvements from the Panthers on that side of the ball. They invested in their offensive line to keep QB Bryce Young upright. They traded for Diontae Johnson of the Steelers and drafted Xavier Legette in Round 1 of the NFL Draft in order to revamp their WR room. But there’s still a role for Thielen. Even if the quantity of his targets dips in 2024, the quality should improve drastically. If you can get him in the 160s in your draft, that’s great value.

Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans — ADP: 214.8

This pick is solely based on the chance that Burks gets traded. He’s now WR4 in Tennessee, behind Deandre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley and the newly signed Tyler Boyd. But Burks still has talent when he’s healthy. A change of scenery could work wonders for him, and a WR-needy team like the Pittsburgh Steelers or Kansas City Chiefs could be a good fit.
