We’ve already released our SDS Week 5 predictions for the weekend but if you are looking for an analytic edge to any SEC games this weekend, here’s an alternative set of picks that may interest you.

Ed Feng’s site The Power Rank recently released its picks for Week 5. Feng’s system has helped him to pick the correct winner 72.7% of the time dating back to the 2016 season. It’s also noteworthy that his record does not count cupcake FBS vs FCS games, only FBS vs FBS games.

Last week, The Power Rank accurately predicted seven of the eight SEC games. The only miss was Kentucky, as The Power Rank called for the Wildcats to win by 0.5 points. Considering Florida won by 1 point, the projections weren’t off by much.

As for the rest of the Week 5 SEC action, here’s how The Power Rank predicts the weekend to play out:

  • Georgia will beat Tennessee by 6.2 points on the road. The Volunteers have a 32% chance of winning the game in Neyland.
  • Auburn will beat Mississippi State by 11 points at home. The Bulldogs have a 21% chance of earning an upset on the Plains.
