The annual Tennessee, Florida matchup, which has been dominated by the Gators for more than a decade, was ranked by ESPN No. 1 among the most pivotal college football games of the 2016 season.

Neyland Stadium will play host to the SEC East tilt on Sept. 24. The Gators defeated Tennessee, 28-27, last season in Gainesville. Florida was able to erase a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to continue its winning ways against the Vols.

The last time Tennessee defeated Florida was back in 2004, when Eric Ainge led the then-ranked No. 13 Volunteers to a 30-28 winning over No. 11 Florida. The Gators have since won 11 straight against its SEC East rival.

The Sept. 24 game begins a four-game stretch for Tennessee that sees them travel to Athens to play Georgia on Oct. 1, then on to College Station, Texas on Oct. 8. Tennessee finishes its stretch by hosting the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide on Oct. 15.

Florida hosts the University of North Texas the week before the Tennessee game. The Gators will then travel to Vanderbilt on Oct. 1.

Tennessee finished the 2015 season 9-4 overall and 5-3 in the SEC. The Volunteers finished the season on a six-game winning streak, including a 45-6 victory over Northwestern in the Outback Bowl, following a 19-14 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 24.

Florida reached the SEC title game in 2015 under new coach Jim McElwain, but fell to Alabama in Atlanta, 29-15.

Other notable SEC games listed are the Oct. 24 LSU-Auburn game in Jordan-Hare and Texas A&M hosting UCLA on Sept. 3.

LSU rolled to a 45-21 victory last year in Baton Rogue. Auburn dominated the 2014 matchup in Jordan-Hare, defeating the Tigers 41-7.
