Shamaar Darden, a 3-star safety out of Tupelo, Mississippi, will be staying in-state to continue his football career. He announced Monday that he has committed to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

Darden, who stands at 6-1, 165 pounds, chose the Rebels over offers from Southern Miss, UTSA and Austin Peay. Ole Miss was his sole Power 5 offer.

He represents Ole Miss’ 16th commitment of the cycle, as well as the 5th commitment in the Rebels’ secondary in the 2024 class.

Darden is considered to be the No. 96 safety in the country, as well as the No. 26 player out of Mississippi.
