Trevin Wallace wasn’t on the radar nationally until late into his senior season at Wayne County High School but he’s made the most of his opportunity to rise up the recruiting rankings and land a home in the SEC.

At one time a Boston College commit — until his stock began to soar and he decommitted from the Eagles — the Peach State native announced on Wednesday that he will play his college football at Kentucky.

Before making his college decision, Wallace landed scholarship offers from LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, among others. He chose the Wildcats over finalists Auburn and Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Jesup, Ga., native rates as a four-star prospect, the No. 12 inside linebacker prospect in the nation and the No. 18 overall prospect from Georgia in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to being a nightmare off the edge for Wayne County’s defense, Wallace split time at receiver during his high school career. He also ran track for Wayne County.
