No one likes those guys who get beat so bad that they take their ball and go home, but that’s exactly what Buffalo Bulls CB Vontae Davis did on Sunday.

Down 28-6 at halftime, Davis decided he had had enough not with just his team, but with football altogether. He didn’t reappear on the field for the second half and said that he had retired.

“I never have seen it … Pop Warner, high school, college, pro’s, never heard of it, never seen it … and it’s just completely disrespectful to his teammates,” said Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander.

When asked about how he found out, Alexander said Davis gave no warning to anyone on the team.

“I found out about it going into the second half of the game, they said he’s not coming out he’s retired.”

It looks like Davis had no intentions on being part of one of the worst team’s in the NFL. The Bills dropped their Week 1 matchup to the Baltimore Ravens 47-3, and lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, 31-20.

Davis played college ball at Illinois and was drafted in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. This was his first season with the Bills, coming over from the Indianapolis Colts, where he had played since 2012.
