WATCH: Orlando Brown registers slowest 40 time in recent memory
It’s amazing how quickly a prospect’s stock can decline following a slow run.
While many will point to the insignificance of how quickly, or in this case slowly, an offensive lineman runs the 40-yard dash, some NFL teams put much stock behind the numbers registered at the annual NFL Combine.
The early story of the day Friday from the event involved Oklahoma offensive lineman Orlando Brown. The former standout Sooner came to Indianapolis to showcase his skills but his first impression left much to be desired. Not only has his lack of speed been put on display but many are now questioning his effort, too.
In fact, the NFL Network’s analyst even mocked his 40-time in this clip:

How much stock should be put into Brown’s time? Apparently, his upper body strength is lacking as well.
#Sooners OT Orlando Brown is 6-foot-7, 345 pounds and did 14 reps on the bench press. #Saints RB Alvin Kamara is 5-foot-10, 214 pounds and did 15 reps on the bench press.

Orlando Brown is having a disaster of a day and it's only 9:17am. https://t.co/hMA6YFAuNx

I don't know Orlando Brown, but it doesn't look like he's giving a lot of effort out here.

Orlando Brown going from a lot of money to pocket change fast. 14 lifts yesterday on bench, 5.72 40. Will need strong pro day. #NFLCombine2018
