San Francisco 49ers update status of Deebo Samuel for NFC Championship Game

Deebo Samuel has done a bit of everything for the San Francisco 49ers this season. Fortunately for the 49ers, he should be good to go for the NFC Championship Game after getting dinged up late in the win vs. the Green Bay Packers over the weekend.
In snowy conditions in Lambeau Field, Samuel recorded 44 yards receiving and 39 yards rushing. Though he was limited in his output, it was the second straight game of 10+ carries for Samuel after he recorded 10 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Late in the win over Green Bay, Samuel took a helmet to his knee. Head coach Kyle Shanahan started the week by saying Samuel was sore from the incident.
When Wednesday’s injury report came out, Samuel was not listed, indicating he should be a full go for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Rams. That is good news as Samuel scored 4 touchdowns in 2 games vs. the Rams during the regular season, including a passing touchdown.

🏈Trent Williams did not practice today, but Shanahan said, “He believes he’s playing, and so do I.”

It is hard to overstate Samuel’s importance to the 49ers. He was named a first-team All-Pro this season with Shanahan calling Samuel one of the best players in the NFL Wednesday.
“He’s one of the main reasons we’re here, and I think it’s one of the things that’s given him the opportunity to be one of the best players in the NFL.”

Can Samuel dial up a classic performance and lead San Francisco to the Super Bowl? Sunday’s game is set to kickoff at 6:30 pm EST on FOX.
