Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks have been one of the SEC’s biggest disappointments of the 2023 season.

Dealing with injuries and ineffectiveness, the Gamecocks are now 2-6 overall and are only 1-5 in SEC action after a 30-17 loss at Texas A&M on Saturday.

After a promising 2022 season, this is not where many South Carolina fans thought this team would be in 2023. That has led to Beamer, who is coaching with a broken foot after kicking something out of frustration a couple of weeks ago, taking his fair share of criticism on social media.

Here’s some of the reaction from fans and media members on X (formerly Twitter):

The Gamecocks now have to win out just to qualify for a bowl game. That won’t be easy, with games against Jacksonville State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Clemson remaining on the schedule. The good news? All of those games are in Columbia, so there’s still at least a chance the Gamecocks could turn things around before it’s too late.
