South Carolina has become the first college football team to partner with men’s underwear brand SAXX for name, image and likeness deals.

For those unfamiliar with SAXX, the brand does not shy from promoting its product with sports-related puns. The NFL’s Trevon Diggs and Stefon Diggs were previously named “Chief Ball Officers.” As one might expect, the brand is excited to have signed the Gamecocks.

The announcement, though, is more than just an opportunity for SAXX to get some laughs with its marketing materials. With the NIL partnership, Gamecocks players are helping raise awareness about testicular cancer.

Seven South Carolina players signed with SAXX are collectively donating $5,000 to the Testicular Cancer Foundation. SAXX has pledged to donate $1,000 for every Gamecocks sack in the remainder of the 2022 season, up to $10,000.

“Even though it sounds punny, we are helping raise awareness for a serious issue that myself, my teammates and all guys my age need to know about,” South Carolina RB MarShawn Lloyd said, per Forbes.
