The Gamecocks are entering Year 4 of Shane Beamer’s tenure. South Carolina has a 20-18 record in three seasons with Beamer. Like most programs, there were ups and downs over the past three seasons.

Beamer won a share of the Steve Spurrier National First-Year Coach of the Year Award after South Carolina exceeded expectations, going 7-6, capped by a Duke’s Mayo Bowl victory. The Gamecocks followed that up with an 8-5 showing in 2022, getting time in the national spotlight with wins over College Football Playoff contenders Tennessee and Clemson.

The Gamecocks took a step back in Year 3. South Carolina went 5-7, falling short of bowl eligibility for the first time in Beamer’s tenure.

The South Carolina faithful hopes it is a bounce-back year in Columbia. The spring game will feature plenty of new faces. Beamer and his staff signed 16 high school prospects, with 12 already enrolled. The Gamecocks have also added 20 players from the transfer portal, a group ranked No. 9 nationally by 247Sports.
