After two years in the South Carolina program, KeShawn Toney is reportedly considering completing his college football career elsewhere.

According to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, Toney has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Entering the portal does not bound a player to leave the program. While most FBS players identified in reports as entering the portal ultimately transfer out, there are some cases where players withdraw from the portal and rejoin the team. Being in the portal allows a player to be recruited by other programs.

Toney completed his redshirt freshman season of eligibility this year. A former 3-star prospect from Willison, South Carolina, Toney signed with the Gamecocks as part of the program’s 2019 recruiting class.

In his first year on campus, Toney played against Charleston Southern, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Clemson, taking a redshirt for 2019 by participating in just four games. This past season, he played in five games (Tennessee, Florida, Vanderbilt, Auburn and LSU) and did not record any other statistics.
