WATCH: Elite linebacker accidentally almost pledges to South Florida, not South Carolina
The South Carolina Gamecocks got some good news on Wednesday when 3-star 2018 LB Rosendo Louis flipped from Florida State to the Gamecocks.
However, it wasn’t without a little extra drama, as Louis had an embarrassing slip of the tongue during his signing ceremony.
As you can see in the video below, shared on Twitter by @DavidFurones_, Louis accidentally says he’s committing to “South Florida” instead of South Carolina to start:

He botched it at first saying “South Florida” in a pretty comical moment at the ceremony.

He quickly fixed the error, but for a second there, Charlie Strong and the USF Bulls must have been pretty surprised.
South Carolina coach Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks eventually got their man, though, so all is well.
However, Louis will probably get some good-natured ribbing from his new teammates when he gets to Columbia.
