On his weekly Sunday night teleconference, Will Muschamp had some bad news to pass along. For the remainder of the 2018 season, South Carolina will be without defensive backs Jamyest Williams and Javon Charleston.

Williams, a former Under Amrour All-American in the class of 2017, is out with a shoulder injury. Charleston is dealing with a foot injury. Both defensive backs will have surgery this week.

Both players suffered their injuries in the Gamecocks’ 48-44 win over Ole Miss on Saturday. The win advances Muschamp’s squad to 5-3. South Carolina could secure bowl eligibility with a win at Florida this Saturday at Noon ET in The Swamp.

UF is now No. 19 in the AP Top 25 after falling to Georgia and Missouri in back-to-back weeks. Dealing the Gators their third-straight defeat just got harder with South Carolina’s losses in the secondary.
