Billy Gillispie returns: Texas A&M will reportedly host Tarleton State in 2020-21
Billy Gillispie went 70-26 in his 3 years at Texas A&M, leading the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament twice, including a trip to the 2007 Sweet 16.
Now, after a few years leading Ranger College (a community college in Texas), he has been hired at Tarleton State to help lead that program into the Division I ranks.
This year, he’s expected to face a familiar foe, as college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reports that Texas A&M will host Tarleton State this coming season:

It will likely take Gillispie and Tarleton State a couple of years to get up to speed at the Division I level. Meanwhile, A&M coach Buzz Williams helped turn the Aggies around in his first year this past season.
This will be an interesting matchup, at least.
