Jimbo Fisher’s time at Texas A&M could be running out.

Fisher inked a 10-year, $95 million contract extension in Sept. 2021, with the money fully guaranteed. His buyout is a staggering $77 million. A&M, however, finished that season a rather disappointing 8-4. In 2022, it was 5-7 and didn’t appear in a bowl game.

After a season-opening win against New Mexico, the Aggies were dealt a 48-33 loss during Week 2. And that’s fueled even more discontent among A&M boosters, according to Bruce Feldman, with the $77 million buyout apparently seen as no object if things don’t trend upward soon.

“I’m told if he doesn’t get it going this year, A&M will find that money.” Feldman said on FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” on Saturday. “As the source told me this week, ‘It’s Year 6. What’s another 8-4 season going to prove at this point.”

Feldman also brought up the point that Texas appears closer to a national championship at this point than Texas A&M, despite Steve Sarkisian entering just his 3rd season with the program.

The pressure on Fisher has never been more evident. Can he get the Aggies moving in the right direction?
