Jimbo Fisher on feud with Nick Saban: ‘It’s over with, we’re done talking about it’

Jimbo Fisher vs. Nick Saban has been the story of the SEC offseason after the Texas A&M coach ripped the Alabama coach for comments claiming the Aggies “bought” every member of their historic 2022 recruiting class.

Well, both coaches are in Destin, Florida, this week for SEC spring meetings, and many media members flocked to the beach to see if the feud would continue.

However, no fireworks have been flying in Florida, as Saban brushed off questions about the beef on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Fisher said there are more pressing issues than the kerfuffle with Saban:

Jimbo Fisher indicated he didn't clear the air with Nick Saban here at SEC meetings, but said the air is cleared anyway: "It's over with, we're done talking about it. … We have a lot more pressing needs than our arguments."

As for those claims about Saban’s shady past? Fisher said he was moving on from those comments, too:

I asked Jimbo Fisher what he meant when he told the media to look into the “operations and tactics of certain people” and if he wanted to specifically address what he meant when he said that during press conference about Nick Saban.

His response: “We’re moving on.”

There you have it. It seems the spat is over. We’ll see if the war of words ramps back up again ahead of Texas A&M’s trip to Tuscaloosa on Oct. 8.
