Jimbo Fisher says Texas A&M 5-star freshman DL will miss spring practice, discusses QB battle
Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies face immense pressure heading into the 2022 season.
After beating Alabama in 2021, finishing the year with an overall record of 8-4 was considered disappointing by many fans and analysts.
Now, the Aggies bring in a historic 2022 recruiting class as spring practices get underway. But, on Thursday, Fisher revealed 5-star freshman DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy would miss the spring session with an injury to his knee:
Texas A&M freshman DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy will miss spring practice due to a knee injury, but is expected to be ready for the fall, head coach Jimbo Fisher said.

Brownlow-Dindy is one of several Aggies expected to sit out this spring. But, according to Fisher, all should be ready for fall camp:
Jimbo Fisher says WR Caleb Chapman, CB Brian George, CB Jaylon Jones, and TE Eli Stowers, among several others will not be available for spring practice.

Jimbo Fisher lists several players out for spring ball – including starting CB Jaylon Jones and DT McKinnley Jackson but it's my understanding that just about every name on that list will be healthy in time for fall camp.

As far as the QB battle goes, Fisher said the depth the Aggies have at the position will lead to a great battle this spring. He also noted that last year’s Week 1 starter, Haynes King, is 100% healthy now:
Jimbo Fisher on A&M's QB battle: "You have to bring your A-game to practice every day to make sure you have a job." Adds the depth will bring "great competitiveness."

QB Haynes King is back to 100% health, Jimbo Fisher said. Said King has had an outstanding offseason.

Who will win the competition at the game’s most important position? It’s unlikely Fisher will name a starter after the spring practice season, but we’ll at least get a good look at who seems to be sticking out.
