The Arizona Cardinals selected WR/KR Christian Kirk in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he’s getting some serious rookie of the year buzz.

However, on Sunday, it was reported that he was arrested following the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament for drunkenly throwing rocks at cars.

The Scottsdale police released a statement on the incident (via AZCentral.com):

“The suspects were intoxicated and leaving the WMPO. As they were walking through a parking lot, security personnel observed them throwing rocks at cars and breaking a window of at least one of them.”

The Arizona Cardinals also released a statement, saying they’ve looked into the incident and won’t comment further:

“We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently. Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won’t comment further.”

Kirk’s NFL career isn’t off to the best start after these allegations, even though they occurred two months before the draft, and now he’ll have to earn back the trust of his teammates.
