Texas A&M has added an experienced defender coming off a productive season to its 2024 roster.

Marshall transfer defensive lineman Elijah Alston announced Monday that he is heading to College Station to continue his college football career after five seasons with the Thundering Herd.

Alston played in 42 games during his time at Marshall. His transfer follows the most productive season of his career.

In 2023, Alston played in all 13 games. He posted career highs of 45 total tackles, 11.5 TFLs, 6 sacks and 3 passes defended, including his first interception.

After redshirting in 2019, Alston played in just four games of the 2020 season shortened by COVID-19. He logged 6 tackles in the season which does not count against his eligibility.

Alston had a Year 2 breakout in 2021. He logged 34 tackles with 6 TFLs, 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

In 2022, Alston’s production dipped to 23 tackles with 1.5 TFLs over 12 games. He bounced back strong in 2023 and now gets to show what he can do in the SEC.

Alston will be a sixth-year super senior in 2024.
