The opportunity to return to the NFL never materialized for Johnny Manziel this offseason so he’s attempting to earn his way back to the league by first playing in the Canadian Football League. Manziel recently agreed to a contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Manziel has already taken part in practice for the upcoming CFL season and met with the Canadian media to discuss his initial thoughts on being an official member of the Hamilton team.

The former Heisman Trophy winner is playing for longtime NFL and college coach June Jones. He is also starting his career as a backup to former Oregon and Ole Miss quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. Considering nothing is being given to him this time around, Manziel appeared very sincere and excited for the opportunity to play in the CFL after taking the previous two football seasons off. He even gets into his previous issues in the NFL and how he’s been shaped into a different person due to those trying situations he experienced.
