It hasn’t taken long for former Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara Jr. to impress one of the all-time greats at his position, his new teammate, Adrian Peterson.

Peterson was asked about Kamara while meeting with New Orleans Saints media members and pointed to a number of Kamara’s traits and talents which impress him.

“He has a lot of talent – so much talent,” Peterson said. “Really quick feet, great patience, great vision – all three of those things he’s shown that’s really impressed me.”

Peterson has also taken notice of Kamara’s pass-catching ability.

“His route-running ability is crisp. … He looks like he sees it,” Peterson added. “He’s picking up things quickly. He’s very efficient. He’s nice. He’s going to be a heck of a ballplayer, I can tell you that.”

Some were surprised to see the Saints take Kamara with the 67th pick overall in the third round with Mark Ingram already on roster and Peterson signed as a free agent. Judging by the impression Kamara is making in New Orleans, however, the versatile back appears likely to see the field as a rookie.

For some Vols fans, there will always be the “what if” factor of watching Kamara play on Sundays.
