Daevin Hobbs is staying in the south to play in the SEC. The elite prospect out of North Carolina announced his commitment to play for Tennessee on Friday.

After picking up 26 scholarship offers, Hobbs narrowed it down to Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio State heading into his big announcement.

Hobbs, from Concord, North Carolina, is listed at 6-4, 277 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Hobbs is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 North Carolina product, No. 11 defensive lineman and No. 95 prospect overall in the 2023 recruiting class. Hobbs is set to participate in the postseason All-American Bowl.

In September, Hobbs posed in Tennessee’s “Dark Mode” black uniforms while checking out Josh Heupel’s program.
