Jeremy Pruitt and company appear close to pulling off another victory on the recruiting trail as one of the program’s latest targets has updated his recruitment leading up to the Early Signing Period.

If you don’t know the name Doneiko Slaughter, you should learn it as the Georgia native is set to officially visit Tennessee this weekend. If you were unaware, this is the final weekend for recruits to visit before the Early Signing Period arrives on Wednesday.

That isn’t the only good news for Tennessee when it comes to Slaughter, as the Roswell, Ga., native announced on Friday that he is no longer committed to Arizona State.

“After talking with my family. I would like to announce my de-commitment from Arizona State University,” Slaughter announced on Twitter. “I sincerely thank all of the coaches at ASU for recruiting me, especially coach White. Please respect my decision.”

Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back currently holds scholarship offers from Miami and Boise State, in addition to his offers from Arizona State and Tennessee.

Based on his senior season highlight reel, Slaughter is a big play waiting to happen on the gridiron. To get an idea of what Slaughter could potentially bring to Pruitt’s defense on Rocky Top.
