Jalen Hurd missed Tuesday’s practice with the flu, but according to 247Sports’ Wes Rucker, Tennessee’s leading rusher should be ready to play on Saturday.

โ€œI’m not allowed to talk about injuries, but he doesn’t have an injury, so I can tell you what he has,” Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike DeBord said after the two-hour practice on Haslam Field. โ€œHe has the flu, so heโ€™s battling that a little bit, but heโ€™s gonna be fine. We think heโ€™ll probably be able to go tomorrow.

โ€œHeโ€™s just battling the flu a little bit.โ€

The 6-foot-4, 242-pound Hurd has played a big role for Tennessee this year, rushing for 572 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also caught nine passes for 85 yards and a score. He is averaging 109.5 yards of total offense per game.

Tennessee (3-3, 1-2 in the SEC) will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. this Saturday to face No. 8 Alabama (6-1, 3-1). The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. CBS will televise the matchup.
