Jeremy Pruitt jokes about how he avoids mispronouncing Jarrett Guarantano's name
Tennessee QB Jarrett Guarantano has heard his last name pronounced a number of different ways since he arrived in Knoxville.
On Tuesday, he met with the media and during that session, he confirmed the correct way to pronounce his name.
Below, you can see him joke about the ways he’s heard it said, and then he says it correctly:
Confirmed: Jarrett Guarantano informed the media that his name is, in fact, NOT pronounced “Guantanamo”.
… It’s also not pronounced the way we’ve all been saying it for years. pic.twitter.com/gqgOBHjhnF

Of course, his coach, Jeremy Pruitt, has a major southern accent, so it’s likely he’s mispronounced JG’s name this whole time. During his weekly radio show, Pruitt revealed the way he’s going to prevent saying his quarterback’s name wrong:
Pruitt on Guarantano NameGate: “I told him I was just going to call him JG so I wouldn’t mess it up.”

That’s a solid plan. Maybe everyone should just call him JG to clear up any confusion.
