Matt Darr and Adam Gase are joining forces once again in the NFL.

The New York Jets recently announced the signing of Darr, a free agent punter who made five appearances for Buffalo last season, to compete for the starting punting duties heading into next season. The Jets punter was Lachlan Edwards last season and he remains on the roster heading into training camp.

Darr previously played in Miami, where Gase was formerly the head coach before landing the head job in New York with the Jets. Before landing with Miami, Darr played at Tennessee.

The former Volunteer specialist has 202 career punts with an average kick of 45.4 yards in his three NFL seasons. His longest career punt was a 70-yard kick. In total, 67 of his punts have been downed inside the 20 with only 16 touchbacks, with only six of those coming in his previous two seasons on the field.
